Terms of Service

Last updated: March 1, 2026

1. Service Description

Crovly provides a Proof of Work-based captcha verification service ("Service") that helps websites distinguish between human visitors and automated bots. The Service includes a JavaScript widget, verification API, dashboard, and related tools.

2. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, site keys, and secret keys. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with our Acceptable Use Policy. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. API Keys and Security

  • Site keys are public and may be included in client-side code
  • Secret keys are confidential and must only be used in server-side code
  • You are responsible for any API usage that occurs with your keys
  • Compromised keys should be rotated immediately via the dashboard

5. Plans and Billing

The Service is available under Free and Pro plans. All plans include unlimited verifications. Pro plan features are described on our pricing page and may be updated from time to time. Billing is handled through cryptocurrency payments via our payment processor.

6. Self-Hosting License

Pro plan subscribers receive a license to self-host the Crovly verification engine on their own infrastructure. This license is non-transferable and limited to the subscriber's own websites and applications. Redistribution or resale is prohibited.

7. Service Level

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee specific uptime percentages on the Free plan. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. Enterprise plans may include SLA commitments as separately agreed.

8. Limitation of Liability

Crovly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Data Handling

Our data practices are described in our Privacy Policy. Verification data is retained for a maximum of 24 hours. Aggregated statistics are retained for analytics purposes only.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your sites will stop being verified and your data will be deleted within 30 days.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email or dashboard notification.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms should be directed to [email protected].
